About

The Laboratory of Biological Electron Microscopy (LBEM) was established in 2020. The past experience from the former lab in Basel (C-CINA) allowed us to quickly establish a new and high-quality environment to follow our passion of solving open questions regarding neurodegeneration, proteins, and protein systems together with new methods and advancements in cryo-electron microscopy. The new lab was founded at the same time as the Dubochet Center for Imaging (DCI) with which we closely collaborate to achieve our results. We also work closely with other facilities, such as the Electron Microscopy Facility (EMF). Since our beginnings we steadily grew into a into a diverse group with an interdisciplinary background. We invite you to find out who we are and what we do, inside our daily labwork and all our other activities!
