Notash is particularly interested in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) among synucleopathies which is the third most common form of dementia. She employs cryogenic electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) to determine the high resolution structure of alpha-synuclein fibrils associated to DLB disease. Further, she uses correlative electron microscopy (CLEM) technique to investigate the copathology of synuclein and tau in various regions of post-mortem human brains form DLB donors. Her aim is to gain insight into the mechanisms underlying this progressive disease.

Notash completed her undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering with honors at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. She then pursued further studies in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Computational Science and Engineering at EPFL. Since November 2021, Notash has been a PhD student at LBEM.
